Hatfield
Hatfield is a town in Hertfordshire, England, situated approximately twenty miles north of London in the Lea Valley. It is home to the Hatfield House, a magnificent Jacobean mansion built in the early 17th century for Robert Cecil, first Earl of Salisbury, which remains the home of the Cecil family and is open to the public. The town also has historic associations with aviation and aerospace engineering through the de Havilland Aircraft Company, whose works were located here and gave rise to one of the earliest purpose-built New Towns in England following the Second World War. The University of Hertfordshire has its main campus in Hatfield.
