Harland and Wolff
Harland and Wolff is a historic shipbuilding company whose main shipyard is located on Queen's Island in Belfast on the north bank of the River Lagan. Founded in 1861, the company became one of the world's largest and most celebrated shipyards, responsible for building the RMS Titanic, the RMS Olympic, and numerous other notable vessels. The yard is dominated by two giant yellow gantry cranes named Samson and Goliath, which are iconic features of the Belfast skyline and among the largest in the world. The site now forms part of the Titanic Quarter regeneration area and is a working ship repair and fabrication facility.
