Ham House
Ham House is a Stuart country house on the south bank of the River Thames in Ham, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, approximately nine miles south-west of central London. Built in 1610 and substantially expanded in the 1670s for the Duke and Duchess of Lauderdale, the house is considered one of the most complete surviving examples of 17th-century interior decoration and furnishings in the United Kingdom. The house and its formal garden, which has been restored to its 17th-century layout, are owned and managed by the National Trust. Ham House faces Marble Hill House across the Thames at Twickenham.
