Godalming
Godalming is a market town in Surrey, England, situated in the valley of the River Wey approximately four miles south of Guildford in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town claims to have been the first in the world to have a public electricity supply, introduced in 1881. It retains a compact historic town centre with a distinctive 17th-century town hall known as the Pepperpot and a range of medieval and Georgian buildings. Godalming is well served by rail with regular services to London Waterloo and is within easy reach of the North Downs and the Greensand Way.
