Galway
Galway is a large county on the west coast of Ireland, encompassing both the city of Galway and a vast rural hinterland stretching to Connemara and the Aran Islands. Galway city sits at the mouth of the River Corrib where it flows into Galway Bay and is a major commercial and cultural hub for the west of Ireland. The county is divided geographically by Lough Corrib, Ireland's second largest lake, with lowland farmland to the east and the wild landscape of Connemara to the west. It contains one of the largest Gaeltacht regions in Ireland.
