Edwinstowe is a village in Nottinghamshire, England, situated on the edge of Sherwood Forest approximately 4 kilometres north of Ollerton. The village is traditionally associated with the legend of Robin Hood, with the church of St Mary the Virgin reputed to be where Robin Hood and Maid Marian were married. The Major Oak, a large ancient oak tree in Sherwood Forest to the north of the village, is said to have been a hiding place for Robin Hood's Merry Men and is one of Nottinghamshire's most visited natural landmarks. The Sherwood Forest Country Park and visitor centre are located nearby.
