Drummond Castle

Drummond Castle, Perthshire, Scotland

Drummond Castle is a historic castle and estate located near Crieff in Perthshire, Scotland, approximately four miles south of the town. The original tower was built in 1491 by John Drummond, first Lord Drummond, and the castle was subsequently extended over the following centuries. The castle grounds contain one of the finest formal gardens in Scotland, a parterre laid out in the form of a St Andrew's Cross with elaborate topiary and planting. The gardens have been used as a filming location, most notably in the 1995 film Rob Roy and for scenes in the television series Outlander.
