Dart Valley Railway
The Dart Valley Railway was a heritage steam railway operating along the River Dart in Devon, running between Buckfastleigh and Totnes. The line was originally part of the Great Western Railway's branch from Totnes to Ashburton, which closed to passengers in 1958. A preservation society reopened the line in 1969 as one of the early heritage railway operations in England. The section between Buckfastleigh and Totnes continues to operate as the South Devon Railway, while the coastal section between Paignton and Kingswear is operated separately as the Dartmouth Steam Railway.
