Coombe Hill
Coombe Hill is the highest point of the Chiltern Hills escarpment in Buckinghamshire, rising to approximately 260 metres above sea level near the village of Ellesborough, south-west of Wendover. It is managed by the National Trust and is a popular viewpoint offering panoramic views over the Vale of Aylesbury. The summit is marked by a prominent monument erected in 1904 commemorating the Buckinghamshire men who died in the Second Boer War. Chequers, the official country residence of the Prime Minister, lies in the valley below the hill.
