Clerkenwell

Clerkenwell is a district in the London Borough of Islington, located immediately north of the City of London and south of Islington town centre. It has a long history as a centre of craft and industry, particularly watchmaking and printing, and retains numerous historic buildings including St John's Gate, a surviving gatehouse of the 12th-century Priory of the Knights of St John. In recent decades the area has become known for its concentration of creative and media businesses, architect practices, and fashionable restaurants and bars.
