Cheltenham
Cheltenham is a large spa town in Gloucestershire, England, situated at the foot of the Cotswold escarpment approximately 9 miles northeast of Gloucester. The town developed as a fashionable resort following the discovery of mineral springs in the 18th century, and retains a wealth of Regency architecture including sweeping terraces, promenades, and garden squares. It is well known for the Cheltenham Festival horse-racing meeting held annually at Cheltenham Racecourse, as well as the GCHQ intelligence agency headquarters located in the town.
