Chalfont St Giles is a village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, England, situated in a valley in the Chiltern Hills approximately twenty-three miles north-west of central London. The village is best known as the home of the Cottage where the poet John Milton completed Paradise Lost and wrote Paradise Regained, having moved there to escape the plague in 1665. The cottage is now a museum dedicated to Milton's life and work. The village has a picturesque pond, a medieval church, and a conservation area around its historic centre.
