Buttermere
Buttermere is a glacially formed lake in the western Lake District of Cumbria, lying between the fells of High Stile, Robinson, and Fleetwith Pike. It is approximately two kilometres long and is fed by streams descending from the surrounding mountains, draining into the nearby lake of Crummock Water. The small village of Buttermere, with a handful of farms, a church, and two inns, sits at the northern end of the lake. The area is popular with walkers attracted by the circular lake path and routes to the surrounding summits.
