Burlington Arcade
Burlington Arcade is a covered shopping arcade running between Piccadilly and Burlington Gardens in the City of Westminster, London. It was built in 1819 for Lord George Cavendish of Burlington House and is one of the oldest covered shopping arcades in the United Kingdom. The arcade is famous for its Beadles, uniformed attendants who patrol the arcade and enforce a code of conduct prohibiting running, whistling, and the carrying of open umbrellas. It houses a series of luxury retail boutiques selling jewellery, clothing, and accessories.
