Bristol Beacon
Bristol Beacon, formerly known as Colston Hall, is the principal concert hall in Bristol, situated on Colston Street in the city centre. The hall has a long history as a music venue, having been built on the site of a medieval priory and subsequently developed as a concert facility in the 19th century. The building underwent a major redevelopment and expansion project lasting several years, reopening with new performance spaces, a restaurant, and improved public facilities. The venue was renamed to remove the association with Edward Colston, the 17th-century slave trader whose statue was toppled during Black Lives Matter protests in 2020.
