Battersea
Battersea is an area of the London Borough of Wandsworth, located on the south bank of the River Thames opposite Chelsea and Pimlico. It is dominated by the iconic Battersea Power Station, a Grade II* listed building completed in stages between 1933 and 1955, which has been redeveloped since 2012 into a major mixed-use complex with apartments, shops, restaurants, and the relocated US Embassy. The area also contains Battersea Park, a large Victorian riverside park opened in 1858, home to a peace pagoda, a small zoo, and extensive sports facilities. Battersea has become increasingly fashionable and gentrified in recent decades, attracting significant residential and commercial development.
