Basildon Park
Basildon Park is a Palladian country house set in 400 acres of parkland and woodland near the village of Lower Basildon in Berkshire, beside the River Thames between Reading and Goring. The house was built between 1776 and 1783 for Francis Sykes to a design by the architect John Carr of York and is now owned and managed by the National Trust. It fell into severe disrepair in the mid-20th century before being rescued, restored, and opened to the public. The house served as the exterior of Netherfield Park in the 2005 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
