Aysgarth Falls

Aysgarth Falls, Yorkshire, England

Aysgarth Falls is a series of three broad, stepped waterfalls on the River Ure in Wensleydale, within the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North Yorkshire, England. The falls are formed where the river cascades over wide shelves of horizontally bedded limestone, creating a spectacular and picturesque series of rapids. The site is surrounded by woodland and is one of the most visited natural attractions in the Yorkshire Dales. Aysgarth Falls appeared in the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, in which the location was used for the fighting scene between Robin Hood and Little John.
