Arthur’s Seat
Arthur's Seat is an ancient volcano and the main peak in the group of hills in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh, Scotland, rising to 251 metres above sea level. It is situated less than a mile from Edinburgh city centre and provides panoramic views over Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth, and the surrounding lowlands and hills. The hill is composed of hard basalt rock and its distinctive profile forms an iconic part of Edinburgh's skyline, visible from many parts of the city. It is managed by Historic Environment Scotland and is accessible to the public as part of the Royal Park of Holyrood.
