Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England

Amersham is a town in Buckinghamshire in the Chiltern Hills, situated approximately twenty-seven miles north-west of central London. It is divided into Old Amersham, a picturesque valley settlement with a medieval church and coaching inns, and Amersham-on-the-Hill, the modern town that developed around the Metropolitan Railway station in the early 20th century. Amersham is the terminus of both the Metropolitan line and the Chiltern Railways Amersham branch and lies at the edge of the Metropolitan Green Belt. Old Amersham is a designated conservation area and a well-preserved example of a Chilterns market town.
