Alexandra Road Estate
The Rowley Way, also known as the Alexandra Road Estate, is a large public housing development in the Swiss Cottage area of the London Borough of Camden, built between 1972 and 1978. It was designed by Neave Brown and Camden Council's architect's department and is considered one of the most significant examples of post-war public housing architecture in the United Kingdom. The estate consists of two long terraced blocks of stepped and cascading concrete dwellings set along a pedestrian street and is a Grade II* listed building. It houses approximately 520 dwellings and has been widely recognised as a masterpiece of brutalist residential architecture.
