Based on a true story, the film follows Liz Evans, a hairdresser and youth theatre leader in Carmarthen, Wales, who launches a campaign in 1993 to save the town's beloved Lyric cinema from closure. With the support of her community and an unexpected ally in Hollywood star Steven Spielberg, she takes on local bureaucracy and indifference. The film is a warm, crowd-pleasing drama about the power of grassroots action and the importance of arts venues to a community. Directed by Sara Sugarman and written by Piers Ashworth.
