White City Estate

White City Estate

White City Estate, Grimethorpe, Yorkshire, England

The White City Estate is a large public housing estate in White City, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham in west London, built in the 1930s on the site of the former 1908 Franco-British Exhibition grounds. The estate consists of numerous low and medium-rise blocks arranged around courtyards and green spaces, and takes its name from the original White City exhibition site. Though the listed location notes Grimethorpe, the White City Estate is a west London landmark in the W12 postal district, and has been the subject of significant regeneration interest in recent decades.
