Westminster Bridge

Westminster Bridge

Westminster Bridge, London, England

Westminster Bridge is a road and foot bridge crossing the River Thames in central London, linking the Palace of Westminster on the north bank with Lambeth on the south bank. The current bridge, constructed in cast iron and opened in 1862, replaced an 18th-century stone bridge and was painted in the green colour of the leather seats of the House of Commons benches. The bridge offers iconic views of the Palace of Westminster, Big Ben, and the London Eye, and is one of the most photographed and recognisable locations in London.
