Shad Thames
Shad Thames is a historic street and riverside district located in the London Borough of Southwark, immediately east of Tower Bridge on the south bank of the Thames. The narrow cobbled street runs alongside and beneath former Victorian warehouse buildings, and is characterised by the network of overhead iron walkways that connect the warehouses at upper levels. The warehouses were originally used for storing spices, tea, and other goods imported through the nearby wharves of Bermondsey and were converted into apartments, restaurants, and galleries following the closure of the docks. The area is now a fashionable residential and dining district and is close to the Design Museum and Butler's Wharf.
