Magdalen College

Magdalen College, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England

Magdalen College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford, founded in 1458 by William of Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester. It is located on the eastern edge of the city centre, alongside the River Cherwell, and is widely considered one of the most beautiful college settings in Oxford, featuring extensive gardens, a deer park, and a large meadow known as Addison's Walk. The college's prominent tower, completed in 1509, is a landmark of the Oxford skyline from which choristers sing from the top at dawn on May Morning each year. Magdalen has one of the strongest academic records of any Oxford college and has numbered C.S. Lewis and Oscar Wilde among its former members.
