London Zoo, formally known as the Zoological Society of London's Regent's Park Zoo, is situated on the northern edge of Regent's Park in the City of Westminster. Founded in 1828, it is the world's oldest scientific zoo and was originally intended solely for scientific study before opening to the public in 1847.
