Belvoir Castle

Belvoir Castle

Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire, England

Belvoir Castle is a grand country house and family seat of the Dukes of Rutland, situated on a ridge overlooking the Vale of Belvoir on the border between Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. The current castle is largely the result of a rebuilding programme undertaken in the early nineteenth century in a Gothic Revival style, following earlier structures on the same strategic site. It commands extensive views across the surrounding agricultural landscape and is surrounded by managed parkland and gardens. The castle is open to the public and hosts events throughout the year, including jousting tournaments and outdoor concerts.
