Oakworth

Oakworth, Yorkshire, England

Oakworth is a village in the Worth Valley, in the City of Bradford metropolitan district, West Yorkshire, England, situated approximately 3 miles south of Keighley on the edge of the Pennine moorland. The village is served by Oakworth station on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, a preserved steam railway that was the location used for the 1970 film The Railway Children and continues to attract visitors. The surrounding Worth Valley was historically a centre of textile manufacture, and the village retains much of its stone-built Victorian character.
