Newton Abbott
Newton Abbot is a market town and the administrative centre of the Teignbridge district in Devon, England, situated on the River Teign approximately 15 miles south of Exeter. The town grew significantly in the 19th century as a railway junction on the Great Western Railway and retains a busy commercial centre serving the surrounding rural area and coastal resorts of Torbay. It is the home of Newton Abbot Racecourse, the oldest licensed jump racing track in the country, and lies close to the eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park.
