Folkestone
Folkestone is a coastal town in the Folkestone and Hythe district of Kent, England, situated on the English Channel coast approximately 7 miles west of Dover. The town has a long history as a cross-Channel port, though most ferry services have since relocated to Dover, and the nearby Channel Tunnel terminal at Cheriton connects to Calais via Eurotunnel. The town contains a distinctive arts quarter in the former fishing harbour known as the Creative Quarter, and the clifftop Leas promenade offers panoramic views across the Channel towards France.
