Fishguard

Fishguard

Fishguard, Dyfed, Wales

Fishguard is a small town and port in Pembrokeshire, Wales, situated on the north Pembrokeshire coast overlooking Fishguard Bay on the Irish Sea. The town is split between the upper town, Lower Fishguard harbour, and the port at Goodwick, from which Stena Line ferries operate a regular passenger and freight service to Rosslare in Ireland. Fishguard is noted as the site of the last invasion of Britain in 1797, when a small French force landed at Carregwastad Point nearby before quickly surrendering.
