Bolsover is a market town and district in Derbyshire, England, situated on a limestone ridge overlooking the Doe Lea valley to the east of Chesterfield. The town is dominated by Bolsover Castle, a 17th-century mansion built on the site of a Norman fortification and now managed by English Heritage as a visitor attraction. The surrounding area has a strong industrial heritage linked to coal mining and the nearby Staveley and Chesterfield manufacturing districts.
