Athelhampton
Athelhampton is a small hamlet in Dorset, England, best known for Athelhampton House, one of the finest examples of 15th-century domestic Gothic architecture in the country. The house and its formal walled gardens, which include topiary pyramids and fountains, sit beside the River Piddle a few miles east of Dorchester. The estate has been privately owned throughout most of its history and is open to the public as a visitor attraction.
