Swaledale

Swaledale is one of the northernmost dales in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, known for its steep-sided valley, hay meadows and traditional stone barns and walls. The area has a long history of lead mining and sheep farming, giving it a distinctive rural, working landscape. Villages such as Reeth, Muker and Gunnerside lie along the valley. Its dramatic scenery and historic character have made it a popular filming location for period dramas.
