Ennerdale

Ennerdale

Ennerdale, Cumbria, England

Ennerdale is a remote valley in the western Lake District, Cumbria, notable for being car-free and largely undeveloped compared to other Lakeland valleys. It contains Ennerdale Water, one of the least visited lakes in the region, surrounded by forest and fells including Pillar and Great Gable. The valley is the focus of the 'Wild Ennerdale' conservation project, which promotes natural landscape processes. Its rugged, unspoiled scenery has made it attractive for filming.
