Horsell Common - Where Did They Film That?

Horsell Common is a large area of heathland on the outskirts of Woking, Surrey, notable as the fictional landing site of the Martian cylinder in H.G. Wells' 'The War of the Worlds'. The common features sandpits, pine woodland and open heath, and includes a memorial referencing the novel. It is a popular spot for walking and has drawn visitors and filmmakers inspired by its literary connection. Woking itself lies just to the south-east.
