Brookwood Cemetery

Brookwood Cemetery, near Woking in Surrey, is the largest cemetery in the United Kingdom and one of the largest in Europe. It was opened in 1854 by the London Necropolis Company to relieve overcrowding in London's burial grounds, originally served by its own railway line from Waterloo. The site covers over 200 acres of woodland and includes military sections, notably a large American war cemetery. Its atmospheric avenues and mature trees have made it a popular filming location.
