Harthill

Harthill is a rural village in Scotland, split between North Lanarkshire and West Lothian, situated near the M8 motorway roughly halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh. It has a history rooted in coal mining and was an important stop on the historic Edinburgh to Glasgow stagecoach route. Today it is a quiet former mining community, home to Harthill Royal F.C. and known for its annual Gala Day tradition.
