The Swansea Grand Theatre is a historic Edwardian theatre in the city centre of Swansea, Wales, opened in 1897 and designed by architect William Hope in the Renaissance style. The theatre underwent major refurbishment in 1987–88, preserving its ornate interior while upgrading facilities, and has a seating capacity of approximately 1,000 in its main auditorium. It presents a diverse programme of touring productions including musicals, drama, opera, ballet, and comedy, and has hosted many major artists and productions throughout its history. The Grand is operated by Swansea Council and remains the principal receiving theatre for large-scale touring productions in the city.
