Trongate
Trongate is a historic street in Glasgow's city centre, running eastward from the junction near the Tron Steeple towards the Gallowgate. The Tron Steeple, a 17th-century landmark that survives from the former Tron Kirk, stands at the western end and gives the street its name. The area around Trongate has become established as a hub for arts and culture, including Trongate 103, a multi-arts centre housed in a former warehouse building. The street was historically one of Glasgow's principal commercial thoroughfares and contains numerous buildings of architectural and historical significance.
