Aylburton is a village in the Forest of Dean district of Gloucestershire, situated close to the River Severn and the larger town of Lydney. The village lies on the southern fringe of the Forest of Dean, one of England's ancient royal forests, and has connections to the area's historic iron and coal mining industries. Aylburton has a parish church, St Mary the Virgin, parts of which date from the medieval period. The surrounding area offers access to the forest and the scenic Wye Valley, which forms the border between England and Wales.
