King’s Lynn

King's Lynn, Norfolk, England

King's Lynn is a historic market town and port in the county of Norfolk, situated on the River Great Ouse near where it meets The Wash. The town has a rich medieval heritage reflected in its many fine merchant houses, guildhalls, and two large parish churches, with Tuesday Market Place and Saturday Market Place serving as central focal points. It was one of England's most important ports during the medieval period, trading extensively with the Hanseatic League across the North Sea. Today it remains an active port and a significant commercial centre for the agricultural hinterland of west Norfolk.
