Ashton Court

Ashton Court Estate is a large public parkland on the south-western edge of Bristol, in the North Somerset district, covering approximately 850 acres of deer park, woodland, and formal gardens. The estate has a long history as a landed estate associated with the Smyth family, and Ashton Court Mansion, a partly ruined and partly restored house of medieval and later date, stands at the heart of the grounds. The estate is managed by Bristol City Council and is one of the largest urban parks in the south-west of England. It hosts the annual Bristol International Balloon Fiesta and various other major events.
