Victoria Monument
The Victoria Memorial is a large monument to Queen Victoria situated at the western end of The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace in the City of Westminster, London. It was designed by sculptor Thomas Brock and unveiled in 1911 as the centrepiece of a broader replanning of the Mall and the forecourt of Buckingham Palace. The memorial is topped by a gilded figure of Victory and features allegorical sculptures and marble reliefs on its lower stages representing various virtues. The surrounding area, known as the Queen's Gardens, forms part of the ceremonial approach to Buckingham Palace from Trafalgar Square.
