Dunsfold Aerodrome
Dunsfold Aerodrome is a former military and industrial airfield located near the village of Dunsfold in Surrey, approximately ten miles south-east of Guildford. It was built during the Second World War and subsequently became the final assembly facility for Hawker aircraft, including the Harrier jump jet, operated by British Aerospace and later BAE Systems until the plant's closure in 2000. The aerodrome is best known to the public as the testing track featured on the television programme Top Gear. The site has since been approved for large-scale residential and commercial redevelopment as a new settlement.
