Hyde
Hyde is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside in Greater Manchester, situated approximately eight miles east of Manchester city centre on the edge of the Pennine foothills. The town developed rapidly during the Industrial Revolution as a centre of cotton spinning and hatting, and retains some Victorian civic architecture in its town centre. Hyde is served by the Metrolink tram system, connecting it to Manchester and the wider network. The town lies close to the Peak District National Park and the Tame Valley.
