Silsoe is a village in Bedfordshire, England, situated approximately eight miles south of Bedford in the valley of the River Flit. The village is best known as the location of Wrest Park, a historic landscape garden and mansion managed by English Heritage. Silsoe also houses the Cranfield University Silsoe Campus, formerly the National Institute of Agricultural Engineering, which was a significant centre for agricultural research. The village lies close to the Greensand Ridge, a distinctive ridge of higher ground running across Bedfordshire.
