Dobcross is a village in the Saddleworth area of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham in Greater Manchester, situated in a valley in the Pennine foothills. The village has a picturesque stone-built character typical of the former West Riding wool towns and retains a central square with a pub and traditional stone cottages. It lies approximately ten miles north-east of Manchester and is close to the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Dobcross is known for hosting one of the annual Whit Friday brass band contest venues.
