Birmingham

Birmingham is the second largest city in the United Kingdom and the metropolitan centre of the West Midlands region of England. It played a central role in the Industrial Revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries and remains a major manufacturing and commercial centre. The city is characterised by its industrial heritage, extensive canal network, and diverse multicultural population drawn from successive waves of immigration. Birmingham was designated a UK City of Culture in the Midlands in 2025 and hosts numerous national cultural institutions.
